A Solemn Celebration of Faith at Our Sanctuary and with the Diocese in Barcelona’s Cathedral
On Sunday, 22 June 2025, our Sanctuary celebrated the solemnity of Corpus Christi with deep reverence and joyful participation. The day began early with volunteers preparing the altar, arranging flowers, and decorating the sanctuary grounds to honour the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
The morning celebration featured an outdoor Holy Mass, filled with heartfelt devotion. Beneath the summer sun, the Eucharist was celebrated with solemn chants, incense, and a moving moment of adoration with the Blessed Sacrament. Parishioners, pilgrims, and local faithful gathered in large numbers, joining in silent prayer and hymns to proclaim the living presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Later in the afternoon, the Sanctuary community joined the diocesan celebration convoked by the Archdiocese of Barcelona. The Metropolitan Cathedral became the heart of the city’s faith, welcoming hundreds for the Solemn Mass led by the Archbishop, followed by a Eucharistic procession through the historic streets of the Gothic Quarter.
The Blessed Sacrament was carried under a canopy through the city, accompanied by bells, chants, and the prayerful presence of the faithful. This shared experience of worship deepened our unity with the wider Church and strengthened our love for the Eucharist.
We give thanks to all who made the day possible: those who prepared the altars, musicians, servers, and everyone who contributed their time and prayer. May the Lord reward their generosity and help us all to grow in our love for His presence in the Eucharist.
